Martha Tinley (1828 -
Biography
Martha Tinley, daughter of Thomas and Betsy Tinley, formerly Slack, was born about 1828 in Nottingham.
At the time of the 1851 England census there was a Martha Tinley, aged 23 years, residing with her sister Betsey Tinley aged 28. Betsey was a Milliner and Dressmaker and Martha was a Straw Bonnet Maker. Both were born in Nottingham. There is a good probability that these two sisters were Thomas and Betsey's children. This would place Martha's birth year as 1828. We have no further information for Martha Tinley.
It is probable that Martha married William Long (1881 census) where Harriett her sister was living with her and her husband in that year.
