Richard Tinley (1839 -
Biography
Richard Tinley, son of John and Mary Ann Tinley, formerly Newton, was born about 1839 in Basford and married Sarah Jessie Harriett Hancock in the Sep qtr of 1862, registration Birmingham 6d 231. At the time of his daughter Jessie’s birth, his occupation was recorded as Jeweller and Journeyman, by the time Nelly was born he was a Master House Painter and Journeyman. Richard died at the age of 49 on the 4th of July 1888, at 10 Victoria Place, Mary Street, Balsall Heath, 3 miles from St Vincent Street, his brothers address. Sarah, his widow registered the death on the 5th July, 1888, in the sub district of Kings Norton, in the county of Worcester. Sarah was born about 1839, and died aged 53 at home, 52 Vincent Parade, Balsall Heath, Birmingham on the 20th May 1892. The cause of death was Mitral Regurgitation Syncope and was certified by William Richard M.B. Her daughter Annie Amelia Massey formerly Tinley was present when she died and registered the death on the 21st May, 1892. The registrar was Josiah Hands.We know of six children from this marriage:
