Biography
Richard Hancock Tinley, son of Richard and Sarah Jessie Harriett Tinley, formerly
Hancock, was born about 1869 and married Kate Kirby Wilson on the 5th April 1891,
at the parish church, in the parish of Holy Trinity, Bordesley, an area situated
to the east of Birmingham City Centre. At the time of their marriage they were residing
together at 12 Frank Street. Richard was employed as a Postman and Kate, born about
1869, was a Spinster. Witnesses at the marriage were Thomas Charles Wilson, possibly
Kate’s brother and Annie Amelia Tinley, Richard's sister. Richard’s father Richard,
a Painter by trade, was deceased. Kate’s father a Coach Spring Maker, was present
at the ceremony. The Curate J E Moon conducted the marriage. Richard died at the
age of 31 years on the 11th March 1900, at the family home, 2 Pearson Street, Balsall
Heath, Birmingham. Ernest J Beard M.R.C.S. certified the death. His wife Kate was
present at the time he died and registered his death on the 12th March, 1900, at
Kings Norton, County of Worcester. Josiah Hands was the Registrar at that time.It
